Over the past several months, a small dedicated team of people have been busy working away to move Radio Eketahuna's studio to its new home in the Memorial Hall.

We've been lucky enough to have the expert support from former NZME Senior Technician Noel Magginity who has professionally installed the broadcast equipment in the studio.  IT Guru Brian Hunter has assisted us to get a digital link established from the new studio to the transmitter site and he has worked on improving the station's computer systems.  The Radio Society couldn't have achieved this huge task without Noel and Brian.

We are happy to report that all these efforts have resulted in the town now having an update-to-date and valuable community broadcasting resource.  It's there waiting for people to use it.  There is no charge to host or make a programme.

Currently, Ray Stringfellow and Joe Sweeney are managing the station by themselves with advertising, programming, finances and paperwork, etc, but the station is now at the point of needing more volunteers to help around to studio and to become broadcasters. In the past month or so, two new broadcasters have joined Radio Eketahuna to make shows - but we need more ... WE NEED YOU!

You might want to host a music programme or chat to locals on-air about important issues or share local news and information.  It's up to you.  Come on its good fun, it's an awesome hobby, and it's easy to learn. You never know, it could be the start of something new for you, and we guarantee you a few laughs along the way.

So if you think you or anyone you know would like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
